“It is every man’s obligation to put back into the world at least the equivalent of what he takes out ofit” ~ Albert Einstein
A burden so big
Globally, an estimated 100 million children live on the streets, vulnerable to hunger, violence, exploitation, alcohol, substance abuse, and other health-related issues.
According to the UNICEF Annual Report 2022, conflict, violence, and other crises had left a record of 36.5 million children globally displaced from their homes by the end of 2021.
In Uganda, thousands of street children struggle daily to survive, with little to no access to essential healthcare, nutrition, or emotional support. They experience several violations of their rights as children during their time on the streets, something that severely affects their growth and development.
Being part of the solution
Every child deserves to live a safe, happy, and fulfilling life having their rights upheld and street children are no exception.
And because we believe in the power of community to create change, Suits and Suits Social Club, in partnership with Hope Street Uganda, USAID LPHS-TB Activity, Mental Health Focus, Kayo-Line Foundation, Mr. Porridge, Barukhshem Foundation, and Hana Events Uganda, conducted a life-changing community outreach event on 27th July 2024 to support street children in Kampala at Buganda Road football pitch.
During the outreach, over 150 children received:
Decent Meals with breakfast and lunch to alleviate hunger.
Mental Health Support with Individual and group counseling sessions to address emotional and psychological challenges.
Health Services that included TB and HIV screening, nutrition assessments, and deworming to improve their overall health.
Recreational Activities with Cocurricular activities, games and sports to foster a sense of belonging and joy.

The road to sustainability
Hope Street Uganda, a critical partner in this initiative, continues to care for these children through weekly activities, including:
• Assisting with personal hygiene and laundry.
• Providing simple meals whenever resources allow.
• Facilitating voluntary repatriation to their homes.
• Offering home-care spaces for the most vulnerable children.
A call to action
The success of this outreach is a testament to the power of collaboration and community support. However, the work does not stop here, Street children need consistent care and compassion, and you can help make a difference in various ways including but not limited to:
Donate food, sanitary items, toiletries, or other essential supplies to support the health and well-being of the children.
Volunteer your time to spend with the children, providing mentorship, counselling or any other form of psychosocial support.
Visit them physically at Buganda Road football pitch on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays. Help reintegrate the street children back into their families.
Hearts full of gratitude
Thank you to all our partners for being part of our journey to uplift those in need. Let us continue to join hands to create a brighter future for the street children and inspire hope where it is most needed. Together, we continue to turn compassion into action, touching lives and making a lasting impact. May Greatness be revealed.
